Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
I’ve heard from directors of 2 of the other big clubs in Houston that Dynamo Dash Youth Soccer will be losing there name at the end of the spring season. If this is true I think HDDYSC needs to be transparent and let the parents know what’s going on.
Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
Let's assume for a moment that what you wrote is true. What does it matter? All other things remaining the same, how will a name change affect things? They won't be the first club to lose an affiliation, and they won't be the last. The name on the jersey is far less important than the collection of players wearing it and the coaches teaching them, and that is where the concern needs to be.Concerned parent wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 8:13 pmI’ve heard from directors of 2 of the other big clubs in Houston that Dynamo Dash Youth Soccer will be losing there name at the end of the spring season. Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
I feel like this theory comes out every spring. DDY losing partnership. Not sure if it is another club trying to stir up rumors prior to tryouts. I do wish DDY was more open about these things but we all know that won’t happen and we will not know till April as I believe that is when they announced moving from Rush to DDY.So what who cares wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:40 pmLet's assume for a moment that what you wrote is true. But I agree - if coaching stays the same what is the difference. We already are not in ECNL on girls side and that will not change thanks to powers that be. The boys are good - they have ECNL and MLSNext at younger ages. Just a different name on jersey.
Now if the rumor is true and some other things are changing - like South is splitting off from North - that’s a bigger deal. Any truth to that?
Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
you are right it doesn't really matter!! It just sucks that they don't communicate anything to the parents that are paying the bills!!!!Everyyear wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 8:19 amI feel like this theory comes out every spring. " If this is true I think HDDYSC needs to be transparent and let the parents know what’s going on."
Well... if it is not true you still want them to communicate? Are you suggesting that the club send out a proactive communication for every rumor that someone hears about it? Seriously?
Many times things like potential affiliation agreements, etc., are subject to non-disclosure agreements. I suspect that HDDYS has an agreement in place with a predetermined end-date and a provision for extensions/renewals and also details about how the affiliation can be yanked prior to the end date. If they have to move on to something else, the reason clubs don't proactively share details is because Nervous Nelly types always assume something far more negative than reality and run, and clubs don't want to lose bodies.
If you like the club now and you are pleased with your coaches and results, what does it matter if they are called Dynamo/Dash or Dudes/Dudettes? To be honest, the colors are ugly now, so if they do lose their affiliation things may actually improve in that regard.

Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
Hey challenge
How's this for transparency?
All I've heard from your coaches is how the GA is equivalent to the RL? 2010 Dash GA beat Dallas Texans 09 ECRL easily by multiple goals today? DT are in 5th by the way in ECRL. They lost 1 to 0 to DT who are second in ECNL.
Lonestar 09 GA beat Challenge 09 ECNL again 2 to 0 (dash beat them 2 to 1 last weekend and is unbeaten against Lonestar in all 6 league games 5 wins and 1 draw)
Dash 09s beat DT 09 ECNL 2 to 0 and Lonestars 08 GA 2 to 1, which challenge again can't match.
So tell me again how "we play them 4 times a year and games matter, not training" (and lose) makes you better? With that logic, and Dash and Lonestar in the GA, getting better results then you (Challenge and DT), could it POSSIBLY be the club, environment, coaching? Could it be that your club with the "top clubs" is exposed for the lack of everything that truly matters???
The results above prove why Challenge won't play Dash in friendlies. If not the case ask your club director/coaches.
Development is not what league you get to tell your friends about to boost your persona. OR what your kids get to tell their friends. Truth is, Albion and Challenge players go to each league game with heads down not enjoying the game. Why? Look at league standings.
"I really enjoyed this weekend in Dallas! We lost both games! Again! And next weekend will be the same! Said no youth player ever"
But instead of losing in Austin with your 09s and 10s. You could have just lost at home and saved your parents the travel. But you won't ever do that, because the only thing you, Challenge and Albion have, isnt facilities, isn't staff, isn't methodology, periodization programming etc...your coaches are paid to neglect all that and call every player outside the league. Crazy thing is some parent or coach will come on here, reply and say "as they should". Your what is wrong.
ECNL Texas has fallen, there is one elite club, 3 good clubs, a few average clubs and the rest of the standings speak for themselves.

Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
At U11 and U12, the league doesn't matter. Find a good coach, good teammates, and have fun.
You are fooling yourself if you think those better GA players who are getting good results against Ecnl teams at U12 are going to still be in the GA at U17. They will leave for an Ecnl team, because that ecnl team is better, plays better competition, and has twice as many scouts watching.
Hopefully Dash (and Lonestar) gets into the league someday soon.

Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
Dash and Lonestar should have both been let into ECNL at least 2 years ago. Now there is a strange situation where youngest teams are having success but older teams are mostly depleted from ECNL defections. So if you are a parent you have to be practical about your decisions.Hooe wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 2:29 amAt U11 and U12, the league doesn't matter. Find a good coach, good teammates, and have fun.

Is Dash/LS going to get into ECNL in the youth soccer timeframe for my kid that matters for college recruiting? I doubt it. Then you have to decide if you don't move over, then is the club doing enough in terms of tournaments and friendlies to make up for absolutely garbage GA league competition? Will they even stay in champions league? How many more Renegades level rec teams will join GA?Because at the older ages ECNL TX is top notch. Very likely it will be like that as well as 09s and 10s age up and move over- not only locally but also from competitor teams having their best players go to ECNL.
Dash 09s are great team. However not sure I would give so much credit to coaching methodology, facilities or periodization training as the Dash coaches really have no idea wtf that actually is. What I see is a large player pool of reasonably technical players, with good speed, and many of which grew quite early. To their credit they have good spacing, and know how to find support and build out of the back.. so i suppose we can credit coaching on those points. Training with strong teammates is a huge plus, but ultimately you will outgrow your fish bowl or you won't get better.
Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
Ok - just was looking in PlayMetrics - not sure why I haven’t noticed before . Both my kids have a scheduled club wide meeting on Wednesday. Anyone know what this is?
Re: We Are Dynamo/Dash
Rumor has it that the Academy Director was fired. His firing could be linked to the partnership dissolving as he was one of the main forces in its creation.
At least one other coach from a big Houston club confirmed that the partnership with Dynamo is dissolving and that the club will have to rebrand. He added that this is great for the city.
