from another poster
How did the new PAYSL tryout format go over? I heard they went away from each coach having a tryout for their own team, to having club wide tryouts. Then the best players would go on the top team, and so on. Did they form any D1 teams?
That is exactly what they did, as I understand it.
Are they also moving away from parent coaches, predictably?

Not quite sure how they will "form" DI teams since those have been pre-qualified listed already. Are they just planning to challenge for DI tournament? Which btw is far different than "forming". That is an important distinction don't you think?

u11 - u13 division 1 is open competition, so they could have formed d1 teams in those age groups.

Sorry...it's been a while since coaching those age groups.

NO PAYSL teams in D1. You can't just form a team and expect to play at that level. You have to qualify first. Better luck next year

Says the angry Texans employee. You are the ones who screwed it up with PAYSL

950+ in rec this year, wow!
tiff among the board and select training staff. moving to all select training staff one moment, then not the other with behind closed door discussions
fields look burnt

950 is down from when we were there several years ago. Is the select program driving away the rec players?

I'd say soccer parents are forcing the downsize. I mean really, if you kid is coached by coach A at age 7 he will surely obtain a college scholarship. That from the parents that never kicked a ball in their life.

I could be mistaken but I am not sure this is accurate. I've heard this is the largest PAYSL has ever been.
