This Forum is an Embarrassment to CTX Youth Soccer

Post by Tricycle Kick » Wed Jul 31, 2013 4:02 pm

"Kudos to Lonestar working with Avila"
"He's a fat, horrible trainer and he opened up his new training center next to a strip club"

"Congrats to all who made the NGS teams at Texans"
"NGS is a joke, the Texan Way is a joke, and wow look at all the coaches' kids who made the teams"

"Good luck to all the Forza girls who are going to IMG"
"Watch out, I read some reviews about it being an unsafe place for girls (unreported sexual assaults, etc.)"

GNW referred to as Whoopi
DC and lap band surgery
Coaches attending strip clubs
Coaches in this country illegally
Identifying/criticizing young players by name
Etc., etc., etc.

Coaches and staff members of clubs posting anonymously, sometimes posing as soccer parents, ripping the other clubs and coaches, at every opportunity. Every positive accomplishment denigrated. Just about every point is countered with a jab or insult.

Admin, you probably tolerate it because more page views = more money, but here's something to think about. Whenever someone touts the newest club or training or camp, you get after them for trying to sneak in a free advertisement. Yet you allow nasty, negative advertising (that's all it really is, commentary/allegations to weaken the competition) in almost every other post. Why is that?

Its this way on the Eastern Board as well. The only way to stop this nonsense and restore integrity to civil discussion is to force registration with a consistent username so the community knows exactly who continues to denigrate and sabotage topics. North Texas forum does it and it seems to work because the community polices themselves when one or two individuals get out of hand.

Couple points. First...this forum is free. No one is forced to log-on and read it. Most of us registered users do get annoyed by anonymous "Lurkers" who add nothing to the debate and feel it necessary to spout hate, which brings me to my next point. Second...there is a pesky thing called "free speech". So yes...we have to put up with the "Lurkers" out there. Third...ADMIN and the other moderators run this site, so of course they have the right to set TOS rules regarding advertisements. Maybe you can start your own discussion board, set your own TOS rules, and let us follow along on there too. If it is a good product then we will read. It not, we will come back here. Fair? ;)

Didn't they make registration mandatory awhile back? I think the result was that people stopped posting and the board almost died. Besides I think most people read this thing for entertainment first, argument second and information last. To enjoy this board you have to see it for what it is, not what you wish it could be.

OK "Tango", you have really "manned up" by registering. Now, for you and the others who are so proud of your registration, how does this make you any less anonymous than a non-registered user? Yeah, that's what I thought, it doesn't. Until you start posting with your actual name (and how would any of us even know if that were true) then have a nice cup of STFU and stop acting like you are somehow more legitimate than anyone else who posts on here.

Agree. The hate, lies, and vicious personal insults that are spewed on this board are disgusting. Yes people have the right to "free speech" but there should be boundaries for decency and honesty. Before, and outside of, anonymous blog sites like this, there was/is some systemic regulation and filter because most people are not willing to write vicious and defamatory statements - or to publish defamatory lies - about another person because they would get sued for slander/defamation or their personal agenda would be exposed. Those constraints don't apply here, and there are some sick, viciously mean-spirited and "self-interested" people who post on this board because this is the only place and means that exits for them to publish their hate and poison anonymously. This is kid soccer - if you hate LS/ATX, a LS/ATX coach, or a personal trainer, then don't do business with them. Its really that simple.

JF, agree with your last sentence. Similarly, if a person wants to move their kids to another club, and share reasons why they left, that club should just let the person move on, rather than engage in a vicious campaign of character assassination, public humiliation and dragging their kids into it. Food for thought for yourself, Xena, KF and any other LS personas I may have overlooked
