I'm adding this report as well.

This took place at a game last Fall between the GU14 Eclipse White and the Westbury Shooting Stars.  There was a hearing held by Super II that on December 3, 2008.  The email was from the Coach of the Eclipse team.  Amazing what photos don’t tell.  The following is a statement of the case which was appealed to the State by Mr. Garbade.  The match between the two teams were clean and physical without issue by either team.  The Center Referee was at the defending third while the teams defended a free kick in the second half.  After a goal kick was awarded, a commotion occurred near midfield on the parents sidelines across the field where the referee was situated.  Strong profanity was heard in an exchange between the defensive player #4 for Westbury and #10 Dianna Aguilar of Eclipse.  Testimony submitted stated that the AR quickly raised his flag as the two players went after each other.  Plyer #10 Dianna Aguilar from Eclipse hit the opponent knocking down the Westbury player #4.  The AR separated the two players near the time that Referee Jennifer Miatech arrived at the altercation.  While the fighting was briefly contained, a Westbury mother charged onto the field and grabbed player Aguilar around the shoulder area.  Player Aguilar defended herself and reacted by punching the mother.  Aguilar’s mother then entered the altercation to protect her daughter.  Both mothers tackled each other and were pulled apart by other parents.  During the altercation, Player Aguilar suspended until May 31, 2009 for Referee Assault  The Eclipse Player was found guilty of Referee Assault.  The Center Referee was also punched by the Westbury parent which was arrested at the scene for Assault of a minor.  All appeals to STYSA were denied.
