Relax Guest 1, if you couldn't tell we've turned this thread into a bit of fun...

And since you asked Coach H....neither were own goals...driven drop-kicks with a stiff wind behind me. Oh the memories.... :-)

Most goals in a career scored by Sean Shappart of Moon Township, PA at 213 accomplished in 3 years 1983-1985. ONly three years because he had to start the program in 1983. I know this because that is my hometown!

He still holds a state record of 88 goals in a season that was a national record for a while. Don't know who broke it but it was someone who put up a hundy just because they could.

Most goals in a HS season is something nice but it's not a true record to be proud of. So many teams stopped scoring for good sportsmanship reason. Coach will/should sit out "star" players after taking 3 to 4-0 lead. Others would move defense players on top, pass the ball around for 10 to 15 minutes, or increase the goal scoring difficulty level such as "header-only".

It would be better if the stats were kept for most goals in the post-season!
  1.
A few years ago, in Virginia, a coach left his star in the game to break the national individual game scoring record. He ended up with 12 or 13, can't remember.

The player, who was one of the best players in the state, was then shunned in postseason accolades and did not receive any post season awards due to this game.

BOTH the coach and the player should be embarrassed by what they did. Kinda got what he deserved.

In Texas, we have a state boys record of either 10 or 11 goals in one game, can't remember. That player has now become an asst coach at his alma mater under his HS coach. I just can't believe that they let that guy do that to some poor team.

    FOR DUALDELLORTOS

Completely agree with you. As I read your post I thought you were going to say that the stud player was injured later in the game.

I've been on the receiving side of a butt whooping like that and it makes me want to go to ground with studs up. I know that is wrong but the testosterone gets pumping when you are humiliated like that.

Thorton I remember you!!! Great touch, tremendous shot, and blazzing speed. I just don't understand how you are not on the national team? I think the most I scored was 3 against my sons U7 team in and parent/player scrimmage, 1 was an own goal, does that count?

Seriously who cares, it depends who you are, what team your on, what level you play at, and who you play!

No, that was at Reliant. Once Ronaldinho went out of the tournament, I was the lucky ticket winner and got to take free kicks at David James. The first three I hit upper 90 and he made the saves, then I hit one right at him and he missed it. It was epic!

Coach H almost scored in college. But when the girl found out that Coach H was not the same guy as in the picture he sent, she head butted him.
